Teachers and Coaches - Consider Self Esteem Boosters for Your Kids
As a teacher or coach, you've seen it: a child or two in your class or on your team that you have a hard time reaching; you know these kids have the potential to be winners but they either don't have the self esteem or the motivation to be a great student or team player. A good way to boost self esteem is to use medals, trophies and other forms of recognition. A child that may not come in a winner in a race will certainly shine with pride if they win a medal for "Trying Hardest" or "Best Effort" or even "Most Improved Player". All of these are accomplishments worth being proud of. You can use blank medals and have them engraved with phrases relevant to your individual needs. A good idea to further make the giving of an award or medal even more special is to have a special get together where you call the children that are receiving awards up and let them get their award in front of everyone. Whether you choose a trophy they can proudly display on their shelf or a medal to hang around their necks at the ceremony and later displayed proudly in their homes, it's a great way to give a kid a self esteem boost. Part of participating in sports and class is to realize not everyone be a winner every single time, but good efforts should always be rewarded. Summertime Awards to Motivate Young Readers
As you're well aware, it can be difficult to motivate children to want to read and unfortunately, reading just like any other activity, requires practice to become good at it. The more a child reads, the more he or she learns to comprehend what they read and interpret it. These are the building block skills for full reading comprehension. Since we live in a more digital world than ever, there is a constant source of input for kids from television, computers, Ipods, video games and more. All of these things can distract your child from learning to read better and if you're willing, there are some creative ways parents can get their child to love reading books. Capitalize on Competitive NaturesMost children have a naturally competitive streak. You can use this trait to motivate most kids to read. Make it a contest to read a book and then give an oral report to yourself or simply talk about the book, this lets you know how much the child is actually comprehending what he or she reads. Give the Child Some ChoicesWuthering Heights is a classic book but most kids will find it oppressively boring. Choice age appropriate books and let your child have some say in the choice. Your child will be much more likely to read books that he has had a say in choosing rather than a stack of books that are considered "classics" or books you chose because you thought they looked interesting. Rewards EffortsA great reward would be to give your child a medal or even a small trophy to show off their accomplishments for their academic achievements in reading. There are also other ways to show your child how proud you are, include a gift certificate to their favorite store or even better - a gift certificate to a local book store to stock up on more reading material! Use rewards as a means of getting your kids interested in reading. If your child continues to have difficulty in reading or comprehension, rule out problems such as eyesight or dyslexia. By addressing any cognitive problems early on and with continued positive reinforcement; your child will develop a love of reading that will continue the rest of their lives. Trophies For Swimmers
Whether it is just a summer activity or one that is held inside all year long, swim lessons can be a very important part of the life of any child. Once certain levels of swim classes are completed, it is only natural that a celebration and recognition should be in order. After all, the completion of various levels of swim lessons will mean that the child is going to be safer in the water with each stroke. Such a life saving skill is always one that should be appreciated and recognized. When you are a coach or assistant who is involved with an organized group of children for swimming lessons, you may want to look into the options that are available to you in terms of trophies. With the Quick-Ship Swimming Trophy, you actually have the option of having either a male or female figure mounted on the top. Having the trophy engraved with the swimmer's name as well as their skill level is also a marvelous idea. Such attention to detail will make the child feel very proud and accomplished. Depending on the kind of budget you have to work with at the end of the swimming lessons, you could also look into setting up some sort of award ceremony. A recognition event or ceremony can be a great time to hand out swim trophies and even mention certain children who were able to achieve various swimming tasks against all odds. Have fun with your group of swimmers and you can be proud knowing that you had a helping hand in their safety in the water. Labels: appreciation, quick-ship, trophy

Help Customers Remember Your Name Through Giveaways
Using promotional giveaways for your business is a great way to encourage goodwill with your customers. Giveaways are a great way to help grow your small business and get your name out there. There are lots of unique ways to use giveaways effectively for your business. Consider using promotional giveaways for the desk or office. Items that are useful, that remain in sight on a customer's guest will help keep your information close at hand. Paper clip holders, and memo stations are good examples of these types of giveaways. Putting your logo and website and/or phone contact information will serve as a quick reference when they need your service or product. These items are generally inexpensive. For customers or clients who have been with you for a while, or generally provide large sales for your business, consider higher end items, such as desk organizers with your information tastefully displayed on them to give to these clients. Use promotional giveaway items that your customers will actually use. Keychains, magnets, and magnetic clips are all good examples. For larger accounts and customers, higher end items that are useful are great ideas. For example, an executive clock would be a great item for bigger clients, and it's a useful item that they can keep in their office. Every time that your customer looks to see what time it is, they will see your business' logo. Using promotional giveaway items strategically can really market your business effectively, and help customers remember your business when they need what you provide.
